Snowberry Lane Clinic (SLC) are a cosmetic surgery group with facilities in Melksham, Bristol and Bournemouth.
The website developed for SLC focuses on giving visitors as much information as possible and trying to answer all the questions that they may have about the treatments provided. In order for this information to be relayed as easily and efficiently as possible, a big effort was made to cross-link pages wherever possible. Treatment pages give visitors quicklinks to any related conditions as well as other treatments that may be of interest. As well as this, inline links were used to further increase the useability of the website.
Adobe Flash was used to produce ‘before and after’ panels to allow visitors to get a clear idea as to how the treatment could work for them. By removing the need to click a button to see the result, the images can be jumped between in a more intuative and satisfying way.
A number of videos were shot and edited to give the website another dimension. Rather than reading the, often lengthy, information given to them on the treatment pages, visitors are able to hear directly from SLC’s cosmetic surgeons and find out why a particular treatment might be right for them.
With so much information to present, the layout of the website needed to be very structured and easy to take in. A number of technologies were used to try and limit the amount of space taken up by the content and therefore the amount of scrolling required. For example, the homepage and FAQ pages use a ‘read more’ dropdown functionality to allow visitors to quickly find out what information is available and then make a choice as to which information they want to read more about.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was a very important step in the development of the website. We worked hard to build up a considerable amount of content for the website – “content is king” after all – but many other steps were taken to ensure the best search visibility possible.
