Phoenix Designs commissioned me to redesign an e-commerce website for their client, Tildenet. The current website was outdated and in need of an overhaul to both increase visual appeal, but also to make the customer experience a more cohesive and simple one.
With no logo to speak of, the first step in the redesign was to sort out the branding. There was not a lot of budget for this so it was kept simple using varying weight and case in the typography. The addition of the flag served as both a visual stimulus and separator.
The blue and yellow colour scheme was chosen to counter the decidedly bland look of the current design, but also to be memorable without going down the obvious path of using green. Yellow was used as the standout colour, used to grab the required attention, for example on the header which has the contact details, and the call-to-action buttons.
The homepage puts the latest offers ‘front and center’ with the payment methods callout box and email signup data-capture form positioned directly next to it for maximum exposure. The availability of multiple methods of payment is attractive to users, and by gathering customer information using a ’signup’ form allows Golfnets to target promotional offers and product developments to these leads.
